a mixed media exploration of what we value
Materials include strips of t-shirt, duct tape, sheet music of hymns, a QR code, articles on wildflowers and education, maps and photographs, silk and paper. Shelley's mixed media pieces build beautiful things from allusions: pulling the emotional and historical baggage from another thing and importing that baggage into something else. In this case, At Most is a mostly neutral, dramatically-valued bouquet of flowers, full of movement and texture. Pretty at first glance, but makes you look again and again.
